The Coldbrook Snowmobile Club has a young member who sets the bar, not only for junior members, but members in general. He is the first to come, the last to leave, and always the first to volunteer to help. He understands teamwork, camaraderie, and most of all an unparalleled respect for his elders. The club knows that they can call on him all the time, for whatever the club needs. Not just kid stuff but the big stuff too, stuff that most adults wouldn’t want to do. Ryan is training to be a groomer operator and has started from the ground up. When I say the ground up, I mean it. Ryan is the first one to grab a grease gun and slide under a groomer in the slop and cold, and get it done. He comes out looking like a smeared chocolate chip cookie with a big white smile. Our future is safe here because of this teenager. With his mom and family behind him I can see this young man continuing this sport into the next generation. He has all ready begun setting the standard by educating his friends and fellow riders on the importance of volunteering and being responsible riders. It is SAM’s great privilege to present the Junior Snowmobiler of the Year award to Ryan Grant of Coldbrook Snowmobile Club
